MOT South Africa will be hosting MOT coaches’ training workshops in Hout Bay for the implementation of the MOT life-skills programme at Silikamva and Hout Bay High Schools.
MOT South Africa is a registered and leading public benefit and non-profit organisation, specialising in life-skills development among the youth. MOT South Africa is also a Services Seta accredited training provider.
The 16-hour training programme will be delivered during five afternoons in the third and fourth weeks of May 2017, from Tuesdays to Thursdays.
The training for volunteers is free, but trained MOT coaches need to sign a working commitment with MOT SA. Community members, with passion and dedication for youth development, as well as time to commit a minimum of 20 hours’ voluntary service per year, are encouraged to apply for the training.
The MOT training programmes give young people the strength to manage peer pressure, to believe in themselves and to take responsibility for their own lives and future. MOT focuses strongly on the development of self-confidence, sound values, positive attitude and behaviour, self-leadership and to respect and care for others.
Through the MOT programmes, the youth is empowered with courage, resilience and life skills to make good life choices for them to develop to their full potential and become leaders and positive role models in their communities. With its philosophy, programmes and methodology, MOT achieves significant and long-term changes in individuals and in the classroom. MOT South Africa works with high schools, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and communities to achieve its vision of creating a warmer and safer society.
