An afternoon of excitement, laughter and good food dispelled the cold, grey weather for Kronendal Retirement Village residents and staff, who decorated and wore their most glamorous hats to the festive Kronendal Derby on Saturday July 20. The races took place in the dining room, where “racehorses”, cleverly contrived by Henk Auret, with staff as “jockeys”, sped along the “track” by the throw of the dice, causing much laughter and excitement. This was followed by the screening of the rugby match in which the Springboks triumphed over the Wallabies.
