The Hout Bay Community Police Forum has confirmed that two women were abducted and assaulted in the early hours of Monday February 12.
In a statement released late afternoon, the CPF said in the early hours of the morning, four males approached a vehicle in the parking lot near the beach toilets at the Chapman’s Peak end of the beach.
“The driver and one female companion managed to drive away but the other two females were abducted and assaulted. One female managed to run away and alerted Deep Blue Security at Checkers. Responders were alerted and one suspect was taken into custody followed later by another three suspects.”
The forum said the result would not have been possible had the established Watchcon community safety network not been in place to ensure a co-ordinated response involving SAPS, Deep Blue, ADT, CCP and HBNW responders
“It is only through our communities combined efforts to fight crime that we can record such success’s and we thank all who contributed to this case.”
