Firehouse visit

Sentinel Probus is a group of retired women,mostly from Hout Bay. The women were taken on a tour around Hout Bay Fire Station on Tuesday June 28 and given a demonstration of the emergency vehicles and the power and range of water hoses. Included in the group of firefighters was Bulelwa Sodinga, Hout Bay’s only female firefighter. In addition to fighting fires, the Hout Bay fire station also functions as a first aid centre and sometimes staff have to act as emergency midwives.They also deal with pet rescues and snakes.
