This year’s Beach Safety Project, which kicks off in Hout Bay tomorrow, Saturday December 9, will include patrol dogs from Community Crime Prevention and K9ine Solutions. This week, Belgian Malinois Bravo was put through his paces on Hout Bay beach by handler Lorenzo Makie. Bravo was trained at K9ine Solutions by master dog trainer, Tony Levin, who has trained dogs for the SAPS and is currently training dogs for the Israeli military. The Beach Safety Project runs until January 12. ADT has secured a security guard on Hout Bay beach for the duration of the project, while Deep Blue Security will be the Hout Bay Neighbourhood Watch beach patroller base. Law enforcement will also be stationed on Hout Bay beach for the duration of the season. Beach patrollers will monitor the beach from 8am to 6pm each day.
