Hout Bay residents have been generous with their support, including donations of clothing and other basic needs, for victims of the March fire in Imizamo Yethu, according to the St Peter’s Church soup kitchen.

Soup kitchen volunteer Nadine Spencer-Derman says they had such a huge response that they were also able to provide 100 children from Imizamo Yethu with Easter packs filled with chocolate eggs, a toothbrush and toothpaste.

The soup kitchen continues to feed about 150 adults and 100 children every Thursday.
