A gang of four men wearing balaclavas struck the home of a Hout Bay man on Monday May 28.
The man was watching television at 9.15pm when the men broke the siding door and entered the home armed with knives and screw-
drivers.
“The suspects threatened the complainant and took him and his wife to the bathroom. The suspects fled the scene with household items.
“No arrests have been made as yet,” said Hout Bay police spokeswoman, Warrant Officer Tanya Lesch.
There was some success for police in Hout Bay last weekend, however.
On Saturday May 26, a police operation conducted in Hout Bay netted nine suspects aged between 28 and 47 who were arrested in connection with a variety of charges.
“Members of the crime prevention unit searched houses and also random searches were made. During this operation, several drugs including dagga, mandrax and tik were confiscated and handed in as evidence,” Warrant Officer Lesch
said.
“One arrest was made for possession of a dangerous weapon. All suspects appeared on Monday in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charges.”
