Two men wanted for armed robbery have been arrested in a Hangberg bungalow, say police.
The arrests on Tuesday February 21, at 5am, followed tip-off, according to Hout Bay police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Jerome Syster.
The suspects, aged 22 and 23, were found in possession of a .38 Special revolver and five rounds, half a mandrax tablet, tools and cellphones, he said.
The men faced charges of armed robbery, house robbery, possession of a stolen firearm and unlicensed ammunition and possession of drugs, he said.
During the same operation, police arrested eight men, aged 20 to 53, wanted on charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Meanwhile, a joint operation, on Saturday, by Hout Bay police, City Law Enforcement and Department of Home Affairs and SA Revenue Service officials saw liquor and counterfeit goods confiscated and 21 undocumented immigrants arrested in IY.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Syster, the immigrants appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday where a magistrate ordered that they be deported on Monday February 27.
