Lllandudno Primary School head of music Michelle Pearce, 35, will play the keyboard, flute, saxophone, and clarinet as part of a five-piece country-rock fusion band in Then & Now, a mix of music, dance and drama, at Durbanville’s Barnyard Theatre, on Wednesday September 11.
Ms Pearce grew up in Hout Bay and attended Camps Bay High School. She has a Bachelor of Music degree from UCT.
“I started learning the piano and recorder at the age of 6 and later went on to learning the flute, saxophone, oboe, and clarinet. After graduation from UCT, I moved to London where I taught music in various schools around London, and performed in various wind bands, jazz bands, and private gigs.
She has been teaching at Llandudno Primary as head of music since 2019.
