Hout Bay’s Jack Anderson, 13, competed at round 2 and 3 of the MSA MX National Motocross Series on the weekend April 1 and 2 in the 85cc category and he had phenomenal results.
In round 2, raced on Saturday April 1, Jack won both races, and was the overall winner on the day.
In round 3, raced on Sunday April 2, Jack finished third and fourth and was placed second on the day.
Combined with his results from round 1 and 3, Jack is now placed 2nd overall in the country in the MX national championships. As a result of his standing, he has been selected to represent South Africa in Romania in August, at the FIM Junior World Motocross Championships.
At the weekend he races in Pietermaritzburg in the KZN regional and returns to Pietermaritzburg early May to race round 4 of the South African MX championship.
On each of the eight championship race days, each round consists of two races, and the combined results of those races determine the winner of that round. At the end of the year, the results from all of the races are used to determine the national champion.
