Don’t wait for an opportunity to come along, create one. This was the advice actor and comedian, Sivuyile Ngesi had for pupils attending Youth Day celebrations at Hout Bay High School, hosted by Lalela Project, on Thursday June 16. Mr Ngesi said young people must turn negative thoughts into positive ones and set their daily goals on bettering themselves. “Your only mission for each day should be to be better than the day before,” he said.
He encouraged pupils not to be scared of failure and said they should see it as a learning curve.
“Positive people always see positive things,” he said.
Artist Tony Gum also addressed the pupils and suggested they write a letter to themselves with words of encouragement.
