Women’s Day netball

Members of the community, Hout Bay High School and SAPS took part in a netball tournament to celebrate Women’s Day, on Friday August 9. The event was held at the netball courts near Hout Bay police station. Three teams – Imizamo Yethu Netball Pearls, Hout Bay SAPS and Hout Bay Dreams Netball Squad – competed with IY Pearls crowned as the victors.
The Imizamo Yethu Netball Pearls, who won the tournament, from left, are Chevonne Gqoboka, Wadzana Makombe, Sharon Nengani, Azipheli Voyi, Mavis Chiangmai, Magdaleen Steenberg, Winfildah Nhengure and Sharon Masala with Charmaine Solomons, Akhona Ntsundushe and Memory Chikini in front.
The Hout Bay Dreams Netball Squad represented Hout Bay High School. They are, from left, Naeemah Samuels, Jasmine Davids, Savannah Major, Kiara Petersen, Jamie Abrahams and Ahkona Mfutyana with coach Miranda Edson in front.
The Imizamo Yethu Netball Pearls, in blue, take on the Hout Bay SAPS team, in pink.
