Gin festival
A collection of local gin brands will be available at the craft gin festival, Gin in the Bay on Saturday September 7 and Sunday September 8 at the Hout Bay Market. A range of botanical ingredients such as juniper berries, coriander seeds, lemon and orange peel will be available as well. The experience includes gin tasting vouchers and a complimentary branded gin glass. The festival will run from noon to 4pm. There will be live music on both days. Tickets cost R100 and can be bought via Quicket.
Talk
Dave Cowley will be presenting a talk entitled “The Legacy of Thomas Bain” on Wednesday September 25 at the Simon’s Town Museum in Court Road at 6pm. Bain was a road and mountain pass builder in the 19th century. Entry is R25 and includes complimentary snacks and a glass of wine or fruit juice. For more information call Cherry at 021 7861 782.
Arts and craft fair
There will be an arts and craft community fair on the first Saturday of every month at Longbeach Mall. The next fair will be on Saturday October 5.
