Rawson Properties (Auctions division) recently welcomed guests from far and wide to a sneak preview of one of the most unique homes in the world, Blackwood Manor, located high up in
the Constantia Nek area of Hout Bay.
More than 100 invited guests enjoyed an evening of networking with recognised experts in the property and investment arenas.
Included on the panel of high- profile speakers were Ebrahim Rasool, South Africa’s former ambassador to Washington, who spoke on land acquisition without compensation and what the government
was doing to lure foreign invest-
ors.
Bill Rawson, chairperson of the Rawson Property Group, discussed whether now was a good time to buy property in South Africa, while Werner van Blerk, of W Design Studio, spoke on the effects of fine architecture and good interior design. Stewart Banner, former board member of The Vineyard Hotel and former vice president of Holiday Inn Group Overseas, presented on the successful marketing techniques of the HQ restaurant chain.
Karen Roos, of Babylonstoren, described Blackwood Manor as her favourite house in South Africa. “It is, without a doubt, one of the most remarkable houses in the world,” she said.
Blackwood Manor was auctioned on Wednesday September 26 with a reserve price of R45-million.
