Two killed in Hout Bay

Anothando Mhlobo has been missing since last week.

Two men were shot and killed in the early
hours of the morning, only one day apart,
in two different areas out in Hout Bay. 

At around 5am on Sunday August 23, Hout Bay
police confirmed that a 19-year-old man was shot
and killed in Salamander Road, Hangberg. 
During an unrelated incident on Tuesday
August 25, around 4am, a 29-year-old man was
shot and killed by three unknown men in Biko
Road, Mandela Park.
Hout Bay police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Khuthala Masakala, said motives
behind both incidents were still unknown at this
stage, with both cases under investigation. 
“This office is appealing to anyone with the
information of these two murders to come forward with the information, there are no arrests
yet on these murders,” she said. 
● Hout Bay police operations yielded success
with 20 arrests for various cases and 10 fines issued
for contravening the Disaster Management Act,
along with 83 fines being issued over the weekend.
Lieutenant Colonel Masakala urged businesses
to comply with the curfew regulations of level 2 to
prevent the resurgence of the virus. 
● The search for three-year-old Anothando
Mhlobo continues.
Lieutenant Colonel Masakala said investigation’s were still ongoing, urging anyone who
can shed light on the case or his whereabouts to
contact police.
