Hundreds of Hangberg residents took to the streets on Sunday to voice their concerns over recent events which saw residents clashing with police and law enforcement. The demolition of illegal halfbuilt shacks resulted in a violent clash that also saw a day care-centre, which doubles as a soup kitchen, burnt to the ground after the owner was accused of tipping off the authorities about the illegally built shacks.
