Many years ago I was wandering around Durham Cathedral in the UK and I came across this inscription on an old tomb. It made such an impact upon me that I still remember it some 60 year later. Hope you can use
it.
When as a child I laughed and wept
– Time crept.
When as a youth I dreamed and talked – Time walked.
Then when I became a man
– Time ran.
Then as I older grew
– Time flew.
Soon I shall find while travelling on
– Time Gone.
What will I do with myself till then? Amen.
