The taxi driver who was shot in the head in taxi violence on Friday June 1 has died.
This was confirmed by Hout Bay police spokeswoman Warrant Officer Tanya Lesch this morning, Monday June 4.
“At about 5.15pm a shooting incident took place on the corner of Main Road and Mandela Road. A 43-year-old man, Phindile Parafien, a taxi driver, was transported to Groote Schuur Hospital after he was shot in the head and died later,” she said.
“A case of murder was opened. One suspect was arrested and is due to appear in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charges.”
