On Saturday July 2 , several members of Hout Bay Neighbourhood Watch (HBNW) executive committee and management committee, together with representatives of the Hout Bay CCP Community Crime Prevention (CCP) met for a five-hour joint strategic workshop at Riverside Estates. The purpose of the workshop was to brainstorm and to develop a master plan which would outline an integrated approach to solving crime in Hout Bay – making it a better and safer place for all. The workshop was organised by Andrew Martin, newly elected chairman of HBNW, assisted by Liezl Schulte, HBNW vice chair while Peter Thomas of Participlan Group Facilitation was the facilitator. The team also enjoyed an overview of the Physical Protection System (PPS), an internationally recognised security standard that provides a framework for all security analysis, planning, systems and components.
