I would like to express how sad and disillusioned I feel after reading the account of the reception given to ward councillor Rob Quintas and members of the DA when they delivered goods to the victims of the latest fire in Hangberg.
I and other members of the DA spent Friday and the weekend collecting clothes, bedding, food and financial assistance to contribute to the fire victims.
The earliest opportunity to do the handover was at 5pm on Monday afternoon. Members of the DA drove back to Hout Bay after a day’s work in Cape Town city centre as fast as possible to attend the handover.
It would appear that this was just not good enough for some people. What a sad situation!
