Jasmine Pitcher, one of Hout Bay International School’s 2017 graduates, has won a full scholarship to the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC) in the US. Jasmine has been awarded the Levine Scholarship with everything completely paid for four years, or until she has completed her Bachelor’s degree. She plans to major in Computer Science, with a minor in linguistics. Having completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) in November 2017, Jasmine was awarded the Diploma with 36 points. Her scholarship includes special academic advising and $5 000 per summer for her to travel and undertake internships. It will also provide up to $8 000 in service grants which she can apply for as necessary to invest in a community service project which she is required to initiate and participate in during her studies at UNCC.
