Hundreds of people put their sculpting skills to the test during Valley Pre-Primary’s annual Sandcastle Competition at Hout Bay Beach on Saturday.

Families, businesses, schools and organisations pulled together to raise money for the Sonwabile Bursary Trust, which helps underprivileged children to attend school, according to bursar Catherine Pereira.

“The event is all about family and fun, and, most importantly, it’s about raising money to grant 10 less fortunate children each year with educational bursaries to attend Valley Pre-Primary School. One hundred percent of funds go directly to education empowerment projects in Hout Bay. These include the Valley Pre-Primary School’s Sonwabile Fund,” she said.
