Hout Bay’s Men’s Professional Businessman’s Club (PROBUS) held its annual general meeting recently and a new committee was appointed for the coming year. From left are incoming vice-president Paul Palmer, incoming president Paul Pigneguy, outgoing president Geoff Arkwright, secretary Chris Hudson and past president John Smit. Hout Bay’s club meets at 11am at the ABC Boat Club on the first Wednesday of each month for their regular business meeting. A short meeting is followed by a guest speaker covering a variety of interesting topics, after which members have lunch in the galley of the Boat Club. Meetings are held in the “Rotary Room” at the Boat Club in the Hout Bay harbour (next to the Look-out Deck). The club is one of the most active in the Western Cape and attracts active members having retired from a wide range of careers. They participate in many activities which are scheduled for each Wednesday of the month, including walks, outings and social events. Although it is a men’s club, partners and wives are invited to all the activities other than the business meeting on the first Wednesday of the month. For those interested in joining the club, contact the club secretary at email@example.com who will be able to send you further details.
