The Department of Social Development is looking for safety parents in Hout Bay.
Safety parents act as temporary safe-care placements for children who are legally removed from the care of their parents or caregivers.
These vulnerable and at-risk children are placed in the temporary care of safety parents through the Children’s Court until such time
that a permanent placement option can be found.
Safety parents are screened for suitability and must undergo training to help care for children who may be traumatised by abuse, neglect or abandonment.
To become a safety parent, you need to register your interest with the department, and your details will be added to its database.
Contact Charmaine, Kelly or Carmen at 021 001 3033/21/20 for more information and screening procedures.
