The nationwide lockdown kicked off at midnight on Thursday March 26, which saw all citizens, except essential workers such as doctors, police, firefighters and more, forced to stay indoors due to the coronavirus outbreak. In Hout Bay, many adhered to the regulations set out by President Cyril Ramaphosa. However, in many parts of Hangberg, residents were still ignoring the Presidents regulations, casually sitting in the sun and allowing kids to run and play in the streets.
