Police, family, friends and colleagues of Amanda Ndibongo – who was killed after a hit-and-run on Sunday, a week before her 24th birthday – are pleading with the Hout Bay community to come forward should they have witnessed the incident or have any information about it.
The accident happened at around 1.45am on Sunday September 3 in the vicinity of the BP Garage in Main Road, Hout Bay.
Ms Ndibongo, a Hout Bay resident, passed away from her injuries on Monday afternoon.
At the time of the accident she was accompanied by her friends Amanda Gqetywa and Yolanda Baliso. Ms Ndibongo joined Lalela Hout Bay in 2011 and graduated from Hout Bay High School that same year. She enrolled at CPUT in a degree course in fashion retail management, graduating in 2015.
Ms Ndibongo was employed as an intern with Lalela Hout Bay as from October 2015, and then joined Jenni Button/ Philosophy to improve her knowledge and passion of the fashion business. She was about to commence employment with the Truworths Group at the time of her untimely passing.
Oliver Nurock from Lalela Hout Bay said Ms Ndibongo was a much loved and valued part of the Lalela family and will be missed dearly by the whole team. Ms Ndibongo is survived by her two-year-old daughter, Anelitha.
