The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department is doing emergency repairs to replace valves, fire hydrants and pipes in the Fish Hoek, Sunnydale and Llandudno areas.
The work will result in the disruption of the water supply on certain days in the
Pinetree Business Park in Sunnydale; 1st Avenue to 20th Avenue, Kommetjie Main Road, Central
Circle, and Nelson, Orlando, Recreation and De Waal roads in Fish Hoek; and Leeukoppie and Steenways roads in Llandudno.
The work started last week Tuesday November 26 and will be completed by February 2020. Water supply might be disrupted between 9am and 5pm on certain days.
The City is advising residents to store water in clean, sealed containers for use during this period and to keep all taps closed to prevent any water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.
Last week, the City carried out emergency repairs to the Ranger Road pumps
that supply the Fish Hoek upper reservoir.
Mayoral committee member for transport, Felicity Purchase, said high-lying areas of Fish Hoek had been affected and low pressure experienced.
The problem had since been rectified, she said.
