Cocktails galore at festival

Enjoy refreshing cocktails at this year's SA Cocktail Week.

SA Cocktail Week, an annual celebration of South Africa’s cocktail scene, is launching in Cape Town on Friday October 28 and runs until Sunday November 6.

The first edition of SA Cocktail Week will host two main events, along with many smaller ones taking place throughout the week at participating venues, such as The Park Inn at the Foreshore, Orphanage Cocktail Bar in Bree Street, Buena Vista Social Cafe in Green Point and The Metropolitan Golf Club in Green Point.

The festival will kick off with the grand opening at the Cape Quarter in Green Point, on Friday October 28.

A Toast to Summer is the theme to the official closing event inspired by the view of the ocean and Cape Town’s popular summer nights. Happening at the Hotel School in Granger Bay on Saturday November 5, the event will feature Cape Town’s first ever cocktail exhibition.

There will be live music for entertainment, and the hotel school will have a fully-operational kitchen on the night.

Apart from the two main events, which are open to all wristband holders, festival goers are encouraged to try any of the signature cocktails which will be served at participating venues including The Grand Daddy Hotel, Cabrito, Kloof Street House, Cafe Mojito, 15 On Orange and The Odyssey, among others.

SA Cocktail Week also feature events which include a round
of sunset cocktails and golf, international jazz act Lanore Raphael at the Rockwell Theatre, the
official Tanqueray party at Orphanage and cocktail master classes where you can learn how to make a perfect cocktail combination.

SA Cocktail Week has also partnered with Uber to give all wristband holders R150 off their first Uber ride with the code SACW2016.

For details, visit the SA Cocktail Week social media pages to get more details and lists of all the events, participating venues and deals.

Tickets are R190 and available at Computicket. All tickets must be exchanged for a wristband at the Honeybadger, 91 Loop Street, before Friday November 4.

Alternatively, guests are welcome to purchase their wristbands straight from the exchange point between those dates.

A percentage of proceeds from SA Cocktail Week benefits Hands of Hope Children Centre.
