Clinics coping with Covid-19

Hout Bay clinic prepares for Covid-19.

Hout Bay clinics are readying for the coronavirus (Covid-19) by providing “essential services” only, to stop the virus spreading into congested waiting rooms.

Hangberg and Victoria Road clinics are screening visitors for Covid-19 and only letting a limited inside at a time.
Patients have to sanitise their hands and all those with respiratory ailments are issued masks.
“We screen all patients who present to the facility as a precautionary measure,” said provincial Health Department spokeswoman Natalie Watlington.
“Patients who require testing for Covid-19 will be tested. Unfortunately, there are still a number of patients that come to the facility with minor ailments.”
All healthcare workers, she said, had been trained to do Covid-19 screening and testing and were being issued with personal protective equipment (PPE).
