Officers arrested four suspects on drug-dealing and possession charges on Friday July 24.

In a series of raids in Imizamo Yethu, Hout Bay police arrested suspected drug dealers and fined spaza shops for selling tobacco during the lockdown.

Officers arrested four suspects on drug-dealing and possession charges on Friday July 24 after they were allegedly found with dagga, tik and mandrax, said Hout Bay station commander Lieutenant Colonel Khuthala Masakala.

On Monday July 27, officers fined a spaza shop owner for selling tobacco.

They confiscated 14 packets of cigarettes and 28 loose cigarettes.

Officers raided another two spaza shops on Wednesday July 29. They confiscated 150 packets of cigarettes and 56 loose cigarettes and issued fines to the owners.

Later that day, during a search of two suspected drug dens, officers arrested two suspects on drug-dealing charges and seized dagga and tik.
