The City’s Transport and Urban Development Authority commenced with roadworks between Pagasvlei Road and Price Drive along Constantia Main Road in Constantia earlier this week. The work is to expected be completed by the end of June, pending weather conditions and unforeseen challenges.
Work at the edge of the Constantia Main Road will be carried out from Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 3pm; while work on Saturdays will be dependent on the contractor’s programme and progress.
Traffic in both directions will be affected as one lane in each direction will be closed at a time. Flag personnel will regulate traffic flow by means of a stop-and-go system for the section between Pagasvlei Road and Groot Constantia Road from today, Thursday May 31 to Saturday June 23.
A temporary deviation will be in place from the intersection of Constantia Main Road and Ladies Mile Road. The temporary deviation route to access Hout Bay will be through Parish Road, Southern Cross Drive, and Rhodes Drive.
The project is part of the TDA’s general roads maintenance programme and is implemented in accordance with the City’s Organisational Development and Transformation Plan which focuses on the maintenance of strategic assets, which includes our vast road network.
