Cape Community Newspapers (CCN) which publishes the Sentinel News and its sister titles, held a Christmas party for four educares at Maynardville park in Wynberg on Friday December 8. They were entertained by the College of Magic and Father Christmas. The beneficiaries of the party were Precious Little Angels Educare from Retreat, Ralu’s Educare from Rocklands, in Mitchell’s Plain, Inkwenkwezi Educare from Gugulethu and Ronnie’s Daycare from Brooklyn. CCN editor Chantel Erfort said sponsors had donated generously to ensure that this year’s children’s Christmas party was extra special. “Our annual children’s Christmas party is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the communities we serve, and treat children who come from less privileged backgrounds, to a very special day. This year we had jumping castles, rides, party packs, a delicious lunch for each child and a special visit from Father Christmas. All this was thanks to businesses like 1Up Cash and Carry, Pizza Hut, Black Ball Rentertainment, Food Lover’s Market and the College of Magic who gave generously to this year’s event. A special treat for each child was the gift each and every one of them went home with, sponsored by Toys R Us. We all went home exhausted, but with full hearts, knowing we had made a small difference in the lives of the children we hosted.”
