■ Frustrated commuters took more than an hour to get to work after a MyCiTi bus broke down at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Victoria Road in Hout Bay during rush hour traffic on Monday morning, January 30. City spokesperson Lisle Brown said officers arrived on the scene at 8.15am to find the bus in heavy traffic congestion. “They then set out cones so that traffic could pass the bus on the opposite side of the road. Officers on the scene assisted with the traffic while waiting for the mechanic to arrive. They left the scene when the road was reopened at 11.30am.”
