As the mercury hit the mid-30s on Saturday February 11, volunteers from a beach clean-up jumped into a tub of ice to raise funds for non-profit Sentinel Ocean Alliance, which helps the youth of Hout Bay. Surfer Daniel Patrick hosted the Ice Bath Challenge on Hout Bay Beach alongside the clean-up. All participants paid a fee to stay in the tub for up to five minutes while hearing of the benefits of ice immersion. They then warmed up with a free coffee from the Sentinel Cafe.
