A three-year-old boy sustained serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision on Chapman’s Peak Drive in Hout Bay yesterday.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just before 5pm, the fire department was already on the scene, busy treating the child.
Paramedics found that the boy sustained serious injuries.
They initiated advanced life support interventions before transporting the boy to a nearby field, where he was airlifted by medical helicopter to hospital for further medical care.
A woman also sustained minor injuries, but refused transportation to hospital.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident will be investigated.
