A song in honour of women has topped the charts in Cape Town.
Singer and songwriter Branton Charles who goes by the name B.Charles and producer and rapper Jason Manual who is known as Jayman, both of whom grew up in Mitchell’s Plain, released a song called Good Times which speaks about uplifting and empowering women.
“With gender-based violence against women and children, we want to appreciate and cherish our women in song.”
Good Times refers to women loving themselves and being able to shine, spreading a message of hope and encouragement to all women.
They released the music video on Monday August 10, a month after the song was first released.
“As artists we must continue to reflect on what is happening around us, and what we put out in the world,” said B.Charles.
