The award-winning children’s classic, Liewe Heksie Vang Vis, performed in Afrikaans by Margit Meyer-Rödenbeck flies into the Baxter Golden Arrow Studio, from Wednesday December 13 to Thursday December 21, at 10am and noon daily from Monday to Saturday.
The production is based on the stories by the late writer, radio and television personality, Verna Vels.
Liewe Heksie uses her broom as a fishing rod, but the fish just won’t bite. The nasty Yellow Witch offers to help and gets Levinia (Heksie) into trouble with King Rosekrans so she urgently solicits the help of her Blommeland friends. The tale comes to life with lots of audience participation and fast action.
Meyer-Rödenbeck, who also wrote the text and directs the show, is joined on stage by Deon van Zyl, who plays the multiple roles of Karel Kat, the Geelheks (Yellow Witch) and Koning Rosekrans.
Tickets cost R120 through Webtickets or at Pick n Pay stores. Block bookings of 10 or more are R100 or book for the 10am performance on Wednesday December 13 and pay just R80.
